Educational Background: Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University
Experience: Grew up making and designing with anything I could get my hands on, and never really stopped. After college I started out with 5-1/2 years at a small structural engineering and design firm, focusing on residential design and remodel. I then spent a year at another firm, getting some experience in the industrial side of architecture, and now I’m excited to get back into residential projects.
Interests: I enjoy stepping outside of this time, with a good fantasy or sci-fi book or show. Even better is a good D&D game, with a storyteller who can really bring you to another world. These slices of other worlds, or of versions of the past are rich with ideas and imagery, and I love to explore them.
Interests Outside of Work: I pretty much always have some sort of project going on, from tooling leather to make pouches, to casting sets of dice or painting silk scarves. I’m happiest when I’m creating something with my hands.
Best Vacay: Camping, with all my friends and a bunch of other people, who are all geeky like me, and we all dress up in medieval garb, and enjoy a weekend away from everything.
Me, In A Sentence: I’m happier when I’m making something.
Favorite Sport: Heavy armored combat. No, really. I armor up, go out with friends and fight full contact with swords and shields. It’s fantastic.
Known For: Trying things big right from the start. First time leatherworking – fully tooled custom armor. Interested in making dice – end up taking over the garage with my resin station. Mom got a new puppy – make her a new custom doghouse with accessible roof deck. I tend not to do things by halves, it’s much more fun to jump in with both feet.
Dream Project: Tudor home with all the extras: tons of space, hidden doors, lots of guest rooms and crafting spaces, including an exterior forge and entertaining hall, with a huge backyard set up for tournaments. Essentially a fantasy tavern and inn, but with all the secret passage ways and extras of a medieval castle. It’s a dream project, right? Dream big, and have fun with it.
