Malibu Transitional Remodel
This Malibu transitional remodel is a breath of fresh air. Originally, the kitchen was in need of a lot of help. It was a cramped and dated space that left the clients feeling underwhelmed. The updates bring a new life to the traditional Spanish style kitchen in this Southern California home.
To start off, JRP broke down a wall that divided the kitchen from the dining room. The new open concept features cool white walls, bronze pendant lighting and elegant Calacatta Dorada Quartz countertops by Vadara. Similarly, white frameless cabinets by DeWils continue the soothing, modern color palette. As a result, the kitchen perfectly balances a rustic Spanish style with bright, modern finishes. Mission red cement tile flooring continues the Spanish style and gives the space a pop of Southern California charm. From here, the kitchen effortlessly flows into a stunning stairwell. This stairwell, highlighted by terracotta tile accents, complements the space without overwhelming the ceiling architecture above.
JRP transformed the space into a relaxing, spa-like escape with its new modern details, complete with wooden skylights and white relief subway tiles. It is hard to believe that something so simple could be so charming. The winning combination in this Malibu transitional remodel: the terracotta tiles, white walls, and wrought iron details.
