Colorful Via Bonita
Thousand Oaks
This colorful, transitional home renovation in Newbury Park replaced a closed floor plan with a luxe space. It blends the kitchen, dining room, and living room into a spectacular great room.
Originally, this home had a dark color palette. Dark wood cabinets and a muted blue on the walls worked to make the space feel small and cramped. However, the clients didn’t have to lose the blue color they so loved.
In the new remodel, the blue was able to be used as accents throughout the great room. In the kitchen, the bar chairs were the pop of blue in the otherwise white and clean color palette. Details like custom built-in cabinets, pendant lighting, and tile backsplash give this space a modern transitional look. Moving on to the living room, blue was used in the area rug. This complements the grey tone of the couch and the oak plank wood floors that run throughout and add an earthy texture to the otherwise modern space. With abundant natural light provided by Jeld Wen multi-slide exterior doors and a pale, modern color palette, this minimalist room is a glamorous setting for entertaining.
Moving on to another part of the home, we find the games room. In this room, reclaimed barn wood siding makes this unique space truly special. In the primary bedroom, the homeowners wanted the same colorful transitional style to continue into their primary bath. The same oak plank floors continue and a large soaking tub creates visual interest as well as a spa-like experience. Again, blue tones continue in this room to create a relaxing atmosphere.
