Contemporary Lakeside

Set along Westlake Lake, this home had beautiful water and mountain views just outside, yet the interior felt dark and disconnected from its setting. What began as a desire for a larger kitchen and more contemporary style became an opportunity to rethink the entire main level.

Walls between the kitchen and living areas were removed, structural modifications opened the floor plan, and expansive sliding doors brought in natural light while creating a direct connection to the lake.

At the center, the redesigned kitchen balances clean contemporary lines with warmth. White frameless cabinetry pairs with horizontal grain oak lowers, softly veined Cambria quartz, and a generous island designed for gathering. With fewer barriers and more thoughtful use of space, the home now feels open, light-filled, and naturally connected to its waterfront setting.
